Building resilience among vulnerable adolescents learners who have succumbed to violence or are at risk of vicimisation or pepetration.

 

  • Trauma informed thereapeutic weekly group programme for vulnerable adolescent boys and girls at school.
  • Individual counselling sessions
  • Integrated support plans for vulernable learners.

 

 

 

Building capacities of organisations working in challenged communities to apply trauma informed approaches, and deliver evidence-based thereapeutic interventions when working with vulnerable groups. 

 

This includes: A 32 hours training programme on trauma informed concious facilitation techniques for practitioners. (Part 1); Emotional Containment, Protocols and Referral Pathways (Part 2); Enrichment programmes including: programe planning, monitoring and evaluation; developing a depper understanding of trauma repsonses and the nervous system; redefining masculunity and unpacking harmful gender and social norms that drive gender based violence; and Mentoring.  

 

To date we have trained beneficiaries working in early learning envrionments, schools, child neglect care,  addiction services; gender based violence and gangsterism, in  communities in Mannenberg, Hanover Park, Lansdowne, Athlone,  Vrygrond, Capricorn, Lavender Hill, Mfuleni and Khayelitsha, Nyanga, Mitchellsplain  and surounds).

Trauma Informed Healing and Empowerment Programme

 

We integrate trauma infromed healing and empowerment sessions into existing programmes with other partners and as standalone programmes. For example Job Readiness Programmes,  Restorative Justice Programmes for juveniles, Skills Programmes,  Reintegration Programme for ex-offenders. Programmes are tailored to the context and needs of beneficiaries.

Healing and Transformation Programmes

Ground Up Collective facilitates programmes for women  and girls focusing on addressing trauma, harmful gender norms and gender based violence.
